Can data centers create positive ripple effects in their local communities? Oh yes, they can! 🙋
Today, we published a new economic impact report that we commissioned from Menon Economics.
They analyzed the positive ripple effects of establishing our first data center, SVG-Rennesøy, in Norway. We began constructing this data center in 2011, and it has been in operation since 2013
The report is based on actual procurement and accounting data for both the construction and operation of the data center.
Overall, the data center at Rennesøy, which currently has a capacity of approximately 16,5 MW, has supported around 1600 FTEs and generated 2,3 billion NOK in value creation. 💸
In addition to direct and indirect employment and value creation effects, Menon Economics has also estimated consumption effects, tax effects, and other societal impacts of the establishment.
So, no doubt, a local community can benefit greatly from data center establishments. 🤝
