A Rising Star💫 We are so proud of one of our employees, Erik Haugvaldstad, who is shortlisted for the "Rising Star Award" at this year's Global Connectivity Award! Erik is an Operation Specialist at Green Mountain and has been with us for over eight years, starting as an apprentice at nineteen. Erik has been shortlisted for the “Rising Star Award” for his extraordinary contribution and inspiring career journey, especially for his work with the company's new BMS system (Building Management System). Implementing a new BMS (DCIM) system is an important task for a data center, especially in a company where operational excellence is at the core of everything we do. Haugvaldstad was trusted to find a partner to deliver a system customized to our needs. Together with Gapit Nordics, he managed this project from start to end. Who let the goats out? 🐐 Nestled inside a mountain and surrounded by lush green hills, our SVG-Rennesøy site is arguably one of the world's most beautiful and green data centers. ⛰️ Yesterday, we welcomed our newest team members, six goats, to the site! Maintaining the vegetation around the data center requires more than technology—so we're taking a new and sustainable approach to landscape management. 🌿🌲These goats will help us manage the dense vegetation around the data halls and our roads, reduce wildfire risk, and add a playful charm to our day-to-day operations. During the summer season, the goats will walk freely, blending nicely into the data center environment. 💚 #SettingTheGreenStandard #GreenMountain #DataCenter

Building a Sustainability Dream Team 🌱 After successfully spearheading Green Mountain's sustainability initiatives solo for some time, Torkild Follaug, our Chief Sustainability Officer, took sustainability one step further and formed a dedicated team in 2023. 🔹 Joachim Bjerke Jentoft, our Sustainability Advisor, has played a crucial role in developing our sustainability report and securing a greenhouse gas emission permit from the environmental authorities. 🔹 Iver Søby Kongssund, our Sustainability Coordinator, has focused on our ongoing process of obtaining BREEAM certifications and exploring innovative uses for our excess heat. With this team, Green Mountain is well-positioned to elevate our ESG standards further and continue our sustainability practices. Can data centers become a new, green growth industry in Norway? 🤔 ONS is one of the world's biggest conferences for the energy industry. More than 60.000 people are gathered here in Stavanger this week to discuss energy, technology, and innovation topics. 💡 Today, our CEO, Svein Atle Hagaseth, participated in a debate organized by Lyse, a Norwegian industrial group operating in energy and telecom. 🗣️The conversation focused on energy and digitalization, their strong interdependence, and how data centers facilitate this #TwinTransition. Welcome to Site 4016: Ark! 👋 As we have grown out of our office at Rennesøy, we needed more space closer to Stavanger. Our choice landed on Ark, the newest building at Site 4016. Ark is a forward-looking, innovative building packed with the latest technology and sustainability. This new location provides the perfect environment to support our continued growth and success. 🌱 Our admin team has already moved in, while our operation team and other key personnel remain at our Rennesøy office to stay close to the data center.
